I have done a search on the S5 amp and found that some people mentioned that they were going to by 2 of these inexpensive kits and run them as 2 monoblocks with 16 watts/ch. I have had this amp for a couple of years and I think it sounds very good, until you turn the volume up. I have relatively efficient klipsch bookshelf speakers (92db/2.83v), but 8 watts is just not quite enough. I also have a great sounding Eico HF-81 that has much more oomph at just 14 watts/ch. I am sure that the eico has better transformers and a better topology, but I would like to test the S5 to see if twice the power will make it approach the performance of the Eico. I was wondering if anyone has actually bridged the S5, and if so, how? I don't know if it can even be done on this amp. Will I need to any modification, or do I just connect the speakers differently? Thanks.
