Dave,THAT is EXACTLY what I'm wanting to do-I should've been more clear in my original post. Just as you said, I basically want to take a working amp and circuit and eventually gut it with the exception of transformers and chassis and rebuild the whole ka-boodle with very high-quality parts and fill in the gaps between my restorations and reading along the way.
Thank you for your suggestion on the Eicos-that is definately a direction I will keep in mind as it's just what I'm looking for!
