fellow inmates, I'm salvaging parts from an old console and want to build a simple SET amp using a 12AX7 and an EL84. I am thinking of using the first half of the 12AX7 for a basic voltage amplifier and the second half to drive the output tube. This will be a basic amp for listening to while goofing around in the garage so I don't plan to spring for $100/ea. caps and top drawer resistors and etc. I want to use mostly the stuff (iron/sockets/pots) that came out of the console. Any simple schematics you'd like to suggest?????? thanks, ron
