The Hammond series of hifi PP OPT's are really good transformers.Joe Rosen wrote a post on the tube asylum some time ago comparing a A470 Dynaco iron to a comparable(spec-wise)Hammond unit.He basically says the Hammond is superior.I belive him and have had great luck with simple EL84 UL projects with the 1608.$31.00 at Angela.
