With all do respect...I find it amazing how some are able to so exclusively and tenaciously adhere to a single forum, as if all absolutely related topics are alien, deserving nothing more than ridicule and criticism. And the 'offender,' in this case Mobile Homeless for providing what I thought to be an extremely well-placed illustration of the original Eico amp, banished to some other 'more appropriate' territory. Mobile H. had no reason to apologize for his 'intrusion,' and to think is was such, in my opinion, reveals an obvious lack of genuine interest in this fascinating field of tube audio and electronics. Sorry, KH, I'm the one who is intruding here, I know...
I for one, was wondering what the original EICO looked like -- and this very quickly obtained and informative picture of one answered that question.
Sending one person away because of what is shallowly perceived as alien or foreign is not much different from prehistoric rock-throwing. From the post that Mobile Homeless left, with his usual extremely high quality pictures, we gained increased understanding and education. I appreciated it, and the one who told him to 'get out of this forum' and go to the vintage hi fi jail is the one who should apologize, not he!
Seriously! We have got to have better things to do than act like Sheriffs of the Audio Asylum! It's that kind of attitude that make me want to just sign off from this place.
