Don't take apart a Cit.II. BTW, on Jim McShane's page he lists the Iron as good to something like 100 Hz, as tested by his rewinder. Not bad for such stuff. The iron is exceptional, just don't gut an amp to get it. If you want some big Iron, gut a mac. though for a triode output stage there's be a few extra windings. the 275's have three 8:1 center-tapped windings w.r.t. the 8 ohm tap.
