I have done two hf89s and I have also rebuild several hf87s. The HF87 and HF89 are similar other than one is cathode bias and the other is fixed bias. They are very straight forward. I put in the citation 2 power supply kit from Jim Mcshane and I RTV the caps in but you can use clamps. The varistor you change with a CL50 inrush current limiter. Here is how I did my hf87 This is before I cleaned it up and got all the brown stuff off the edges but anyway here it is.Just get a hold of Jim Mcshane as he has every part you need to make this thing sing like a canary.
