I read in one of your posts that you like to place tin and PP caps in lower level signal coupling positions and PIOs before the outputs. Is this still common practice for you?
I have a Dyna '70 with a Triode eel EF86 driver that uses tin and PP caps in the first stage but K40s before the EL34s. It sounds pretty righteous. I have some .01uF Vitamin Qs that would fit in place of the tin/PPs, but am enjoying the way it sounds now.
I just purchased an Eico HF-87. I'll try both combinations in that amp - the point to point wiring in a big, open chassis will allow much quicker swaps.
