My question(s?) regard how does one eek the extra power out of this tube when it seems like its specs and curves are identical to the old 2A3."
The specs are not the same.
The plate dissipation is 40 watts vs. 15 watts.
The plate current is rated at 70ma. for fixed bias and 100ma. for cathode bias. The max for the RCA is 90ma.
The max plate voltage is rated at 450 volts instead of 300 for the RCA.
