Gentlemen;
I have been using PP 6b4g" in a Modified Dyna Stereo 70 with great success - biased around 60V. Only comment is that the 4 ohm output tap seems to sound the best probably because it better matches the tube Rp?
Anyway, I can "only" get maybe 8 clean watts or so and of course would like more. I see that there is a new Russian 2A3 with 40 watt claimed plate dissapation and am considering trying that (with a suitable new PS transformer of course). My question(s?) regard how does one eek the extra power out of this tube when it seems like its specs and curves are identical to the old 2A3. Am I right to try putting maybe 500 -550 volts on the plate and see (watch?) what happens? Anyone experimented with this tube??
Thank You
Charles
