More Questions

Thanks for the explanations guys. I think I'm getting a slightly better grasp on this. So a few more questions:

Is it correct that using a 6k output transformer (I'm using Sansui 1000A outputs) will produce more power than a 4.7k if the same plate voltage and bias points are used?

If I use the 6k outputs with a plate to cathode of 250v, how would you characterize the two bias points mentioned? Is 60mA "deep" Class A? Eli mentions using "shallow" Class A or, more accurately, Class A/b (small b). Tre', you say you use this too yet you apparently think Jeff's use of 45mA is too "shallow" or A/B. What bias level would you say is A/b or not too shallow?

I guess I'm asking you guys to suggest some operating points for me to try using the 6k outputs. The power transformer is pretty flexible so I should be able to vary the B+ somewhat.

Thanks . . . Charlie
