When I advised someone to stay away from vintage integrated amps (because the preamp sections sucked) he told me I was wrong and the HF81 was top of the line.If you want another laugh see if you can find a jadis preamp schematic that has a special "CD" input. The cathode follower operating points are....well....lets say it will make your CD player sound ...uh...err....different?? IIRC it was a 12au7 with a 2k2 tail resistor to ground and like a 3uF coupling cap.
