Hammond 125ESE when I first built my 2A3, which to my ears are good sounding. I don't have a scope to see how it looks at different frequencies, but it stayed for a while and I just enjoyed the music. When an opportunity came for me to buy a MagneQuest DS-025, I too it. So now, I have the DS-025 permanently hooked up. Is it better? Yes, better bass response, smoother mids and sparkling top end.Well, there is this thing called "diminishing returns", at some point it won't give you x performance at x times the price.
It also depends how much difference you can hear :)
