believe it or not, i am using a Bugle 45 with an 89dB Infinity Kappa 200 speakers (i'm still looking for high efficiency bookshelf) with only a DACT-in-a-nice-box. when i was using 5751, it was ok with knob turned to about 4 o'clock. somebody donated a pair of 6072A (originally specified in the circuit) and it has lower gain, so i now use my Foreplay preamp.if i have a Klipsch 101dB sens speaker like my friend, i would be really happy as i like to listen to my amps without an active line stage.
so that really depends on the Vout of your source, how loud you listen to, how sensitive your speakers are, and how big is your room.
