Thanks for your knowledgeable post David! It did occur to me that perhaps my deck needs some adjustment. I have read a little bit about it, but don't even know enough to be dangerous when it comes to R2R tape decks.From what I've read, it seems most consumer decks were biased to +6 (to use tape such as 456/457) and Quantegy GP9 is a +9 tape. I don't know exactly what the heck that means, but I suspect I could not just throw some GP9 on my deck without an adjustment to the bias, right?
