dbx 224 should do the trick for you, and they are not expensive these days.

At that price you can afford to try it. Yes, on some material you may be able to notice its effect, but generally speaking it is plenty good.

Problem with dbx is the compatibility. But it all depends on your particular needs.

For this reason I don't use any noise reduction.
