RE: Overly Bright 7.5" reel to reels?

There is a way to electrically do something about this if you have the ability. Find and "wire out" the HF adjustment in the playback EQ circuit to the front panel of the deck. It's typically a 5K pot. This can allow you plus/minus adjustment of the HF - say maybe +-3 to 5 dB. Makes quite a difference. Did this on a few Rexoxes way back when.
