A number of TD20's I've come across suffer from what appears to be a common aging problem (don't we all!). The motorized Pinch roller pivot assembly "freezes up" because the lubrication hardens. Also, the on-off and speed change switches stop functioning because they tarnish. Unfreezing the pivot is not too big of a deal but getting the switches to work reliably is a different story (have to remove the board they are mounted on to get to them).
Once working correctly, I've found the 20A to be a great sounding machine - one of the best consumer machines in my opinion. Replacing all the coupling caps with Elna's made a difference on my machine. Also tweaked the playback response to get it a little smoother.
