This is not good news. If Im no longer able to buy blank tapes for my several tape decks/ players, then Im going to switch over to reel to reel. If they stop making that, well stuff it then. There is no HD recording format for digital for the masses. DVD-A doesn't count because its not a main stream recording format for the home. I don't consider CDs High Def either. It seems the stereo/ music industry is hell bent to stop us from making any decent recordings on good equipment. I would be recording on DSD128 if it were an option to burn onto disc, but its a pro only format. I still think tape sounds better then digital other then SACD and maybe DVD-A. But those are not options for archiving, at least economically and on some sort of disc. All this makes me really miss the hey day of tape since then the music industry didn't try to ruin a good format. Give me the 80s again!
