Home Tape Trail

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

Re: Cassette's are not High Fidelity?

I totally agree...Inmate51 is obviously not familiar with the compression algorithms that support MP3's and Ipods(which are ALL about "convenience") Nothing in Ipods or the MP3 format is about reproducing high quality, home music audio. It's been proven time and time again that the best cassette decks will hold their own with even the best R2R's if they are biased and set up properly. Of course if someone is just down on or done with analog....

Face it Inmate51, you've been blindly digitized if you believe in MP3's, Ipods and their yuck, lackluster sound as anything but convenience........you seem to post in favor of R2R's here? Do you consider that the high end Naks(Teac, Tandberg et all) cassette decks were made as a "convenience medium"?
