I'm not sure quite why, but this morning I acquired the last 26 years-worth of Gramophone magazine. (Well, the price was definitely right at £0.99 sterling on collection!)
Flipping through the October 1988 issue, I was intrigued to discover that both Chandos and ASV were advertising DATs - 27 and 6 titles, respectively. Living outside Europe for most of the 80's, this totally passed me by, obviously.
So, I wonder if any fellow anachrophiles here have invested in such tapes. If so:
what label, titles?
what equipment are/were they played on?
how does/did the sound quality compare with other formats?
how have they stood the test of time?
