I have a pair of ACI Titan subs, and I am currently running them off of the speaker outputs of my integrated amp(Cary SLI-80), using the adapter cables from ACI.I would really like to use the high pass filters, but my integrated only has a subwoofer/preamp out, and no amp input. I don't like the idea of using "Y" connectors off of my CD player, so I was thinking about picking up the passive preamp from ASL (T1?), that uses auto-formers, and has two pairs of outputs. I could run it wide open, with one pair of interconnects/high pass filters going to the integrated amp, and the other pair going to my subs. Does this make any sense?
I know that REL strongly advises to use the speaker taps--I can understand not wanting to split the signal at the CD player, but they don't even like using two pairs of outputs from the preamp...I am just wondering if the benefits of taking the load off of my amp and main speakers would outweigh the disadvantage of splitting the signal/making things more complicated?
Thanks!
