Some of these may be only one note boomers, but you may find one with some bass definition. The price is usually right, and you can research reviews/comments on the net with a mobile phone while in the store.
I use Yamaha woofer/subwoofers, and there is some bass definition for the tiny room in which I use them. I probably paid $30 for the woofer, and it even has a variable low pass filter and a single frequency high pass for my Yamaha YSTM7 computer speakers. In my case, computer speaker refers to the size, as I don't use them for my computer.
