18" woofers will not guarantee great bass in your own room

BIG bass is not necessarily the sam. thing as good bass. Good bass is sm.oth and articulate too.

Those Hartley-Luth speakers that you auditioned m.y have sounded great in the room you auditioned them in, but that is no guarantee that they would sound just as good in your own listening room.

This issue m.y not be as sim.le as you suppose. Room acoustics issues play a m.ch greater role in perceived bass quality than woofer size ever does.
"Speaker/room synergy" is the key to good bass.

M.re often than not, a m.lti-subwoofer system like the Audiokinesis "The Swarm. system will out-perform m.st any pair of floorstanding speakers you'll find in the bass departm.nt, regardless of the floorstanding speakers woofer size. And part of the reason for this is that a m.lti-subwoofer system like "The Swarm. offers the m.st flexible and custom.zable approach to sm.oth AND deep bass response in the widest possible range of room sizes, shapes, and decor styles.
