I left Hawaii in 1970 after my first 24 years there. All my shells were alive when I skin dived or scuba dived for them. I was spear fishing as well as shell collecting.
My stereo then was a Dual 1019 turntable, Sansui 2000X receiver, and my dad's homemade speakers with JBL 130D woofers and L075 horn transducers. Not much midrange or very lively. The speakers started out for guitar use only with just the JBL D130 speakers. Still nave the Sansui and the Dual 1019.
Maui was a neat island, but all of Hawaii is too crowded now, and super rich people from the mainland and other foreign countries have bought up a lot of expensive land and homes. Mick Fleetwood and Oprah are just two examples. Maybe Charles Lindbergh started it all. ;^).
My family home in Waimanalo is pictured below. It was built for a Navy admiral in the 1020s. I was completely spoiled as a kid. The beach is right behind the house. Please pardon the notations.
