RE: Speaker options around 10K

Well, I've been very happy with my EgglestonWorks Andra II speakers.

They are full range, so a decent sized room is helpful, if not absolutely necessary.
(My room is 16' x 24', with the speakers centered on the long wall.)

The speakers are sealed (i.e. they're not ported), so interactions with the rear and side walls are "somewhat" minimized.
(I say somewhat because I have a large TV stand between my speakers, hence that is the main reason I have my speakers pulled out into the room by a couple of feet to help with the soundstaging and imaging. To be honest I've not tried them up against the rear wall due to said TV stand, but I imagine it would work okay, albeit pulling them into the room a bit would probably be better.)
The bass response is quite good, as there are two 12 inch woofers mounted isobarically to counteract the lack of a port.

I've owned these for eight years now, and every time I get the itch to upgrade I look at the price of what I consider to be better speakers, and they're always three or more times the cost I paid for these.

I've seen these priced "used" for well under $10K, (in fact I bought mine for $9.2K).

My two cents worth!
Good Luck in your search!
