Yea, my question was poorly stated. While I do like ESL's and have owned so many over the years, it is time for me to move out of them and try another speaker type. My room is about 12' wide x 20' long. I can set any speakers up in a location they sound best.
I think I want to try a Tannoy single driver in a ported box; what can I expect this to sound like? I do not listen to music too loud anymore. I like pop, rock, bluegrass, acoustical stuff, classical. I really like nice voice music like The Carpenters, James Taylor, etc.
I see a 8" Tannoy driver in a very nice veneer tower type cabinet that is interesting, I may drive down to audition it.
The Tannoy Revolution XT 6 also looks sweet. Not so much info on that though as I think Tannoy has discontinued them. I am really just trying to get an idea of what a Tannoy can do well and not so well. i don't care how it compares to a stat.
Thanks for all of your help!
