RE: Tannoy XT 6 vs older Tannoy 8" coax

If you like ESLs then I would not expect Tannoys to be your favourite alternatives. Without any idea of your budget, rest of system and music listening preferences it is however difficult to recommend anything else.

With speakers my advice is always listen before you buy, preferably in your own room. If this is not possible for you then ensure that you the vendor provides a clear 7 day (or longer) return policy.

Edit: Ah, I see that you have your system posted and a taste for classic rock.
