RE: Choosing Speakers Without Audition?

I really want the LV's. But it's lots of money without hearing them. The demo pair is gone, I could have returned that pair if I wanted to. I could go for a less costly model in the range, an R25 or the Avatar instead of the IBX-RW4's, but I think this is my one and only chance to do something like this before college tuition looms closer. Since my space is compromised though it may just be overkill for that level of speaker.

I've yet to read a bad review, everyone says they are outstanding. I saw a couple of your posts that said an 18 watt amp wasn't enough though. I have a very small space and am looking at a 13 watt EL-84 to drive them. I want something much different that what I currently have. Kevin Scott insists they were made for 300B amps (I have one, hopefully being repaired, though haven't heard back from the amp tech working on it yet).

I've got another week before our refinancing is done and I can seriously consider what it is I'm doing.
