Sub woofer question...

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I found an AR S108PS sub at the thrift store today but I did not buy it because when I plugged it in to see if it worked but the power light did not come on, I looked around for the power switch but I couldn't find one nor could I find a fuse. The only manual I could find shows a different layout on the back with a power switch. Is anyone familiar with this particular model and could tell me how to power it on?
