Yes, I've come to that conclusion as well. The 2C's should certainly buy time until I find the right thing.
It's interesting to me the way in which old 2Cs are really inexpensive even when fully functioning. They sell for less than some what I think of as very ordinary vintage speakers. They're not glamorous but have a good level of well-integrated and clean sound sound.
