General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

RE: I'm gonna be blunt

Thank Airtime that makes a lot of sense. I have an ESR meter and intend to check the caps, but I have read others experience that replacing the caps made little change to the sound. My usual approach is to find something I like and then try things, if I don't think it got me closer to what I want I can back them out. The NS1000 are to my liking as a temporary replacement for the electrostatics I usually listen to. My thinking is that most designs are a compromise and that changes to the crossover is about the only thing that I can easily tweak in these speakers to slightly alter the sound. I'm going to let these play for a few more days then frequency sweep and see if the graphs show what I think I am hearing.

These speakers are used a lot in studios. I was also thinking that if an update for these was good that it being a small community, people would have thoughts, experiences etc. Thank-you again for your response.
