The Inspire works beautifully with my Abbys but they put out between 3/5/7 watts depending on the tubes used and I've got other amps for when I use other speakers. I'll be honest, I've not tried the Inspire with my other speakers. Maybe I should have.
The MB185's are absolutely fan-frinkin-tastic. And they're driving the Ultima Gems currently.
But the Cary 805B came up locally and I've been lusting after them, on and off, for about 25 years. Even with the quarter century lusting, I had to think about it a few times as I'm not sure how much of an improvement I can make over the VTLs.
So I used the "Ya only live once" justification and decided to go for it. After this, though, whether I keep the amp or not, I thnk I'm finished for a long while.
I will not look at audio sales sites any more!
