Col. Klipsch made a (pretty) big deal about distortion

-- because the low excursion of his horn-loaded drivers tend(ed) to have considerably lower distortion levels than normal dynamic drivers.

He also felt that IMD (and/or "Doppler Distortion") was/is a pretty important thing for loudspeakers.

Opinions differ (to this day).
