Please go back and read the original post. George put forth the strawman, questioned it, and asked us to explain/comment. The strawman is that the red terminal alone determines how the loudspeaker responds, and so he questioned the role of the black terminal.
You and John are fixated on whether the black terminal is tied to ground or not, which doesn't matter in the slightest bit to the loudspeaker/amplifier interaction. Instead of helping George to understand that, you guys are carrying the strawman. Tre has been trying to point out that it's irrelevant whether you tie any point in the circuit to ground or any other fixed potential, or where you do it. He's right.
If you go back and read the thread again from the OP on down, I hope you'll realize that you're helping to perpetuate the original misunderstanding rather than helping George understand the amplifier/loudspeaker interaction.
