RE: A wrap around

I think all the Q Acoustics use two layer walls(some 3) with a gel between them that doesn't dry completely, constrained layer damping. They were designed by the German Fink company.

The idea of thin cabinets is the opposite of conventional. Normally a designer aims for the highest Frequency possible for the 1st resonance. That's still generally in the mid range. Thin cabinets, a BBC concept aims for the wall resonance lower in frequency to keep the mids cleaner. The thin walls are less rigid. Then damping pads(BBC uses bituminous felt) is glued on the inside to dampen the resonance shortening the duration.
