I have no experience with either of those two speakers, but here is what I would do...look at each speakers woofer and tweeter size and construction materials. Then consider the size of your room and the type of music you listen to. I believe the Polks have bigger woofers and a silk style tweeter. Monitor Audio are smaller woofers and a different tweeter material. Just guessing here...if your room is big enough, those Polks might be better for punk and rock.
I notice also that Crutchfield sells both Polk and Monitor Audio. Give them a call. They will be able to give you some direction, and they may have some satisfaction guaranteed policy.
