RE: what volume low

Before I booted up the computer to check my favorite websites I was listening to Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto on my big fully horn loaded tri-amplified DIY speakers at what I consider to be a realistic level based on my experience as a season ticket holder for the Atlanta symphony.

Without changing the volume set before I I played a few excerpts from that concerto. My trusty Radio Shack SPL meter showed volumes ranging from 68dB to 84dB. Only a few crescendos reached 84 dB. Most of the time the meter showed volumes in the low 70s.

I live in a single family home pretty much in the middle of an eight acre lot.

I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
