RE: Since passive xovers are so problematic

I kind of agree with you. I've heard superb passive crossovers. But then I've heard two similar speakers xover wise and one id more open even though both cross at 2K. Why? one rings at 5K, the other at 9K. Even with 4th order xovers you can hear the ringing affect.

It isn't that you can't do great passive xovers just that I'm convinced you can do even better active ones and in this day of even 6 figure speakers, why not go all out for that last extra bit of performance.
