Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Leedh Nazca & Audax HD3P

A good friend of mine - a doctor who was never an audiophile but just loves music - is moving out of his huge appartement for a smaller place.
He has seemingly decided to part with his pair of Leedh Nazca, bought new in the 1990's, serial number 004 (!)

The speakers are aesthetically in mint condition and gorgeous BUT listening to them there's absolutely no treble output.
I did some research and quickly found out the "gas filled" Audax HD3P tweeter were most likely not burned but deflated...
There's some company in France who apparently is re-inflating them as well as adding some valve at the back go the tweeter to allow the customer to do it at home later on;

I've also seen some testimonials of people having managed to do it themselves.

I'm looking for information regarding the possible re-inflation of those tweeters and maybe about a known potential replacement tweeter just in case. (no matter how good that tweeter may be, if it would be MY speakers I would hate having to constantly check the pressure like on some old car's tires). The Audax tweeter being piezo, I suspect a swap of tweeters would need a crossover redesign - or at least some added leg to it.

Any information welcome!
