Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

ads L-710 would be quite sweet indeed -- but --

Back in the '70s, "we" (my hifi chums and me, that is -- all college students in those days) couldn't afford them, nor an hk730 for that matter, so -- when and where I came from, this was a common, and worthy, combination.

hk 430 and Polk Audio Monitor Series Model 7 (generally referred to, and later officially known as, "Monitor 7") :)

whatmore

This is from the Gordon Miller Music catalog (ca. 1977 or 78).

Full disclosure: The turntable in the photo is not a GA212, but rather a GA406, and the speakers actually look - to me - to be Monitor 7As :) (the original Model 7 had an 8 inch passive radiator, the 7A had a 10" PR)

The 730 and a pair of Polk 7 family members (or even the larger, thicker sounding Monitor 10) would be nice, too, methinks

all the best,
mrh
