RE: Cone profiles? Bowl shaped, not trumpet.

I recall reading about this from the BBC when they still were building their own speakers. They spoke about trumpet shape for cone drivers but with an increasing curvature as the cone approached the voice coil so that the cone was connected straight into the voice coil with no angle between the two. The idea was that if there was an angle there it was more likely there would be reflections of energy back into the cone, the angle acting as a discontinuity.
