The MK4 is an IMF Electronics speaker, which has nothing to do with Bud. They split with Bud and were allowed to use IMF in their name.
The Model R was the 1st Fried speaker. It was a slightly modded KEF Concerto in a different 'variovent' or line Tunnel box with short transmission line for the mids. The R2 had a new crossover with lower bass to mid change and was significantly improved over the original R.
