You are wrong. Acoustic suspension is closed box. The reverse may not be true. Certain conditions of the relationship of the characteristics of the woofer and cabinet must be met. For instance, the old Bozak speakers were closed box. They were NOT acoustic suspension.
By the way acoustic suspension speakers tend to be inefficient due to low box resonance and small boxes. Look up Hoffman's Law . Hoffman is the H in KLH and was a founding partner when KLH only made acoustic suspension speakers based on the research of Edgar Vilchur who did the research on acoustic suspension and founded Audio Research, the company that made acoustic suspension such a success in the 50s and 60s. When Vilchur sold the company in the mid 60s it had 33% of the audio speaker market.
For what it's worth acoustic suspension and non acoustic suspension closed boxes exhibit similar bass behavior. Acoustic suspension sacrifices efficiency for smaller enclosure size as mentioned above.
