basically correct although your statement about Dickason is not really accurate as he does define acoustic suspension values for Qtc of 0.5(and 0.577 and 0.707) and if I recall correctly the Acoustic Research AR3 was 0.707(not absolutely sure).

I wouldn't want to live with a Qtc of 1.0 in any speaker that went down low enough(box resonance in the low 40s like the AR3). It would have poor bass control. For higher resonances the boom affect may be a good' listening' compromise in spite of poor control. The LS3/5a had a resonance in the 70s with a QTC around 1.2 but if it had not been made to boom it would have sounded so lean it would have been unlistenable.
