RE: Port location and shape




Not really a specific speaker. Just the general thoughts/theories and why threre so many different configurationes. We have all seen and likely heard speakers with a round port in the front and maybe the rear. Here are two examples that are a variation of bass-reflex designs. The Altec Lansings Model 4 have a rectangular vent in the front and the C-V 311P have a rear vent. Both are excellent sounding and do not have muddy "one-note" bass as do many ported designs that are of similar price/build.
