RE: Thiel is dead. A ray of hope...

Sad to hear. I owned 2 different pair of Thiels about 30 years ago.

One solution. My daughter(31) wanted to replace her 1980s Technics Turntable SLQ2 which was on its last legs. I told her to look at Rega P2. It was more than she wanted to spend, so I got her a gift certificate for the difference at a brick and mortar high end shop near her that sold Rega.

Bottom line: When she went into the shop to purchase her new turntable, she asked about the Dali speakers I was recommending. What she got was an exciting audition the likes of which she never experienced. The shop owner set up an audition with the Dali speakers, a Heed Elixir integrated, and the Rega 2. My daughter loved the sound, high end made sense to her, and she purchased the Dali speakers that day in addition to the P2. She is now saving for the Heed Elixir.

High End doesn't have to die with the Boomers, but it won't survive in this age of internet shopping. It demands a live demonstration. We always knew that. So...get those kids gift certificates and get them in the stores.
