Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Got the tweeter-high-pass caps installed...or at least my goodbuddy did.

I chose Jupiter beeswax-and-papers this time, the 100VDC VT 3.9 and a Vintage 0.22.

The two combos measured within 2% of the original combo 4uF caps.

The three greenish 'lytics and the 10uF black-wrapped, oval-shape cap are the 70Hz high-pass filter for the upper-bass and bass/MR 7" drivers, which means that ALL the MR energy passes thru those 'lytics.. YUK!

The nice-looking black cable is the ClearDay, while the clunky-looking gray stuff is my DIY bass cable, composed of six 16g. strands netting 8-1/4g.

Will jacket the ugly basscable with something black.

The Clear Day cable is the Double Shotgun version which is made with four 24g. (= 18g.) solid-silver conductors per pole, each individually jacketed and then each bundle of 4 twisted about the other. Spades are thick-enough copper, silver-plated.
