instead of thirds, you use 29% from front & rear walls for speakers & listening.
I mentioned that as a starting point. My room is somewhat irregular with the back wall having an extended section to one side. The most linear measured distance after much experimentation works out to be 26% of one side and 34% of the other. Call it 30%.
Perhaps moving them two inches in my 26/29 foot long room will be the charm. :)
