RE: Thiel CS 1.5 noisy mid/woofer?

With the power off and grill removed, spred your fingers out in a spider pattern and place them on the speaker cone about 2" or so from the inside of the surround, then gently push the cone in slowly and listen for any scraping noise, you might even feel it too. If you feel or hear it, it is damaged. Likely out of round (over heated) or pushed to one side.
